What is Durood e Ibrahimi?
A durood is a form of prayer and blessing that was sent to holy prophet is (peace be upon him) in the Quran Allah mentions that he and his angles and blessings a upon the prophet (peace be upon him) and commandsus to do same. Durood Ibrahim is one of the most frequently recited the duroods as it is included in our prayers after the attahiyat. In this beautiful the durood we ask Allah to bestow peace and blessing upon only prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) and his family.
بِسْمِ اللّٰہِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحِیم
اَللّٰھُمَّ صَلٌِ عَلٰی مُحَمَّد وَ عَلَی اَلِ مُحَمَّدِِ کَمَا صَلَّیْتَ عَلَی اِبْرَاھِیْمَ وَ عَلَی اَلِ اِبْرَاھِیْمَ اِنْكَ حَمِیْدٌ مَجِیْدٌ
اَللّٰھُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَی مُحَمَّدِِ وَعَلَی اَلِ مُحَمَّدِِ کَمَا بَارَکْتَ عَلَی اِبْرَاھِیْمَ وَ عَلَی اَلِ اِبْرَاھِیْمَ اِنْكَ حَمِیْدٌ مَجِیْدٌ
Durood Ibrahimi in Urdu Translation:
اے ہمارے اللّٰہ! محمد اور آلِ محمد پر رحمت بھیج۔جس طرح تو نے ابراھیم اور آلِ ابراھیم پر رحمت بھیجی تھی۔بے شک تو تعریف کیا گیا پاک ہے۔
اے ہمارے اللّٰہ! محمد اور آلِ محمد پر برکتیں بھیج۔جس طرح تو نے ابراھیم اور آلِ ابراھیم پر برکتیں بھیجی تھیں ۔بے شک تو تعریف کیا گیا پاک ہے۔
Durood Ibrahimi in English
O Allah send peace prophet Muhammad peace be upon him and his family just as you sent peace a prophet Ibrahim and his family indeed you are most days worthy and glorious. O Allah bless prophet Mohammed peace be upon him and his family as you blessed prophet Ibrahim and his family indeed you are mostly place worthy and glorious.
Virtues:
The virtues of Durood e ibrahimi are profound and diverse:
Divine command: This Durood is recited during prayer (Salah) as directed by the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) making it and essential aspect of worship.
Blessings from Allah: By reciting Durood Ibrahim individuals invoke Allah’s blessings upon themselves the prophet (peace be upon him) and his family.
Fulfilment of the prophet’s Wish: the prophet ( peace be upon him) encouraged his followers to send blessings upon him and reciting this Durood honors that gaudiness.
Intercessions on the day of judgement: It is believed that those who regularly recited the Durood Ibrahim will be granted intercession by the prophet (peace be upon him) on the day of judgement.
Spiritual elevation: Consistent recitation can enhance one’s spirituality and foster a closer relationship with Allah and his messenger.
Forgiveness of sins: It is regarded as the means to attain forgiveness of sins and mistakes.
Strengthening faith: Reciting Durood Ibrahim deepens one’s love and reverence for the prophet peace be upon him there by reinforcing their faith.
Increased Mercy: It is believed to draw Allah’s Mercy and blessings into one’s life.
